Care and Maintenance
All ASC Building Products steel roofs must be regularly washed, either by fresh rainwater or by cleaning with a light cleaning solution. The roof must not be cleaned with abrasive or chemical cleansers. One third (1/3) cup of a common laundry detergent containing less than 0.5% phosphate dissolved in (1) gallon of water will work. The roof must be systematically rinsed with fresh water in areas of high salt concentration (such as the ocean or industrial locations) to prevent the accumulation of concentrated salt deposits. Cleaning must include the underside of any panel overhang where the underside is exposed to the weather. Owners within close proximity of pine trees are advised to keep roofs clear of pine needles that may collect on the roof.
